Re: Ryzen and Linux ?

My linksys AE1000 wifi usb stick works on both systems. The linksys AC1200 doesn't work on either version 18 or 20 Ubuntu.

That seems weird. Wonder why ?
Cheers

Re: Ryzen and Linux ?

After digging online, am not the only one with this issue for this usb stick. Have to rebuild the driver and a bunch of other command line stuff. Tried some of it but no dice. Figured I would try to load up on wu's for a few days so I could hook up ethernet cable once a day but boinc isn't letting that happen. Not sure why. Guess I will need to find a linux friendly USB wifi stick.

Re: Ryzen and Linux ?

Another issue I am having is on the AMD cruncher. When a covid projects finishes, shows server aborted. But when I look here to see why, shows valid. Are there Ryzen issues crunching? I posted this in the covid section to.

Currently, I have 237 pages of work units either in progress or complete, mostly on Ryzen. I only show 1 "server aborted" work unit, and its on a Xeon machine.

Re: Ryzen and Linux ?

Only showed server aborted on my cruncher. Looking at my completed wu's here, they show valid. Will see if it keeps doing this or just a quick glitch.

Good to hear. How are the temps, are you using the stock cooler?

Re: Ryzen and Linux ?

Yes. Seems to spin up a little, then back down constantly. May back off to 10 units crunching. This motherboard only has 2 fan connections. One for cpu, and other for front or back. I chose back to suck out the heat. This chip is more efficient than a westrmere chip with same thread count. The westmere takes an additional hour to crunch COVID than the AMD chip.
