The event log will list suspend/resume stats.

So based on what you've stated, it could very well be a CPU heating issue. Depending on your box, if possible, I'd just do a quick check to confirm if the CPU fan is running consistently. I have an old Q6600 crunching away. When the fan gets wobbly and doesn't cool consistently, I get a larger variable processing time. It usually settles down again after the fan rebalances itself. (slows down to the point where it doesn't wobble). If you have to shut it down for an hour before it returns to normal, it definitely could be a hardware issue.

From what I've gathered, check hardware and power usage settings. You could be power throttling because of windows 10 power saving, or because you're overheating or having another hardware issue.
----------------------------------------Don't rely on cpu time vs wall time to determine much outside other process loads. It will usually stay 1:1 even throttled. Download openhardwaremonitor and check what the system vitals are, that would be a good starting point. Also of note, if you are throttling, your power usage will decrease significantly. I usually run at ~70% speed (limited at win/bios) to keep power and heat down during the summer. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for all the advice guys. The last of the test batch reported in at 08:14 this morning, all okay. Shut rig down & gave it a good check out. All okay.
The only thing changed on that rig was the upgrade from 1909 to 2004 some time ago. It was a corrupted O/S & normally would look to find out what caused it, but as it's Win 10... |

Sirius, which CPU are you using and how hot is it while crunching?
If it's old enough, it might be worth taking a break from WCG and saving up for something that can process more stuff. The Ryzen 5000 series is hard to find in stores, but very suitable if you can acquire it. |

I've got some different kind of similar issue )
the school I'm working for just got a new batch of desktops with Intels i5-8100 aboard... made a test run of OPN for a few of them and one system shows much longer completion times than another machines... same hardware, same OS, same everything, no overheating, no downclocking... very strange... but still OK for badgehunting )) |

I do see an i3-8100. Are you sure you are comparing the same cpu's ? See here . Cheers
