I originally joined WCG in 2005 using the BOIC app. I received regular project updates. Earlier this year, I joined Science United--using the same BOINC app-- and I noticed that WCG projects dropped off my project list. However, when I signed into my web account, it appears my computer is still processes work for WCG projects even though the work stats are not showing up on my client. I have two questions: 1) Am I still getting credit for processing WCG work; 2) Why is the wrok not being reported on my client?

Science United is for easy access for first time users choosing science areas and not projects like WCG.
Users already familiar with BOINC should stick to BOINC. |

When you use Science United, you are not really using your WCG/any other BOINC project account.
----------------------------------------It's basically 1 single account that pools all people and their resources. So, if you want to get credit on your WCG account, you need to attach your WCG account to the BOINC Manager. Otherwise, you are contributing your credits/runtime to the Science United Account. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Hi Falconet, should I understand your remark as Science United "steels" the credit of the contributors, not ensuring that the contributor is directly granted with its effective contribution? Yves |

Hi Falconet, should I understand your remark as Science United "steels" the credit of the contributors, not ensuring that the contributor is directly granted with its effective contribution? Yves Maybe I'm wrong but as far as I remember, there is no individual credit for a volunteer under Science United. I think they log the hours of contribution though. So I just created an account there (I had deleted my previous one quite recently actually) and I don't see any credit fields. I see the Contribution area which has a list of all projects and tells you how many hours you've contributed to each, as well as the number of jobs, both successful and unsuccessful ones. But regarding credit, here's the Science United Account at Rosetta - https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/show_user.php?userid=2041873 If you use Science United just for Rosetta@home for example, all your credit goes to that account. I guess it's an easier way for someone to contribute without having to do basically anything other than download BOINC and attach to the Science United account manager. If I'm wrong, I hope someone will correct me. ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |
