7.14.5 is indeed the WCG official current version of its BOINC client for Mac.

The releases you see by WCG are skinned AND signify they've been 'code audited', more or less entirely for the Corporate guys who otherwise would not let their zillion devices crunch with BOINC.

they've been 'code audited' Which kinda suggests the Berkley version is not.I'm not saying the Berkley version is not audited. I'm sure it's safe.
