The World Community Grid team had a quick monthly meeting with the Africa Rainfall Project researchers, which you can read about in this article.

This new information process is much more dynamic for retransmissions within the teams' communication centers. Thank you!

Current status of work units We're currently sending out generations 18 and 19. (A generation is a set of work--in this case, a set of computer simulations of rainfall in sub-Saharan Africa.) The World Community Grid tech team is increasing the rate at which we're sending out work. We'll post about this increase in the African Rainfall Project forum as soon as it's implemented. Yet the reality is... Statistics Date Total Run Time Only 462 validated this morning of which 231 are straggler wingmen. How many threads need to be opened on the topic of a stuck feeder, may I/We so boldly ask, and this is at least since Thursday last week?(y:d:h:m:s) Points Generated Results Returned 08/10/2020 1:139:00:08:29 2,066,388 462 08/09/2020 3:173:21:08:40 5,726,810 1,298 08/08/2020 7:151:09:47:00 11,616,286 2,691 08/07/2020 11:074:18:26:40 18,970,982 4,466 08/06/2020 12:161:12:37:21 20,979,519 4,946 08/05/2020 15:064:05:13:59 26,209,189 6,160 08/04/2020 15:313:03:15:28 27,583,085 6,525 08/03/2020 18:134:10:26:13 32,369,398 7,640 08/02/2020 18:339:23:55:46 33,416,463 7,912 |

Since 2020-08-10, about 23:00 (UTC) ARP1 WUs are flooding again

@entity: the feeding problem was already reported since a couple of days. So? The point being, evidently the forums aren't being monitored on a regular basis so tried another avenue to make the problem known. Keith talked about setting up an alert, truth is, they were alerted, through the forums. They just chose to not read it or somebody read it and ignored it. The members are reasonably good at alerting when something isn't right with the grid but they have to be read by someone who can do something about it. You're willing to settle for inaction, other members aren't. |

Hi entity,
----------------------------------------please apologise if you did consider you being offended by my remark. I was just mentioning that from 2020-08-05, several members (incl. my-self) reported the ARP1 shortage / drying. Because of the time offset (I am based in Europe) and because of Summer break and week-end, it is understandable that the problem resolution could take some time, in particular if the monitored information does not explicitly report any troubles. WCG tech team looks regularly on the forum threads and the team usually reacts accordingly. Since the other current project feeds were OK, it was no real reason for an emergency reaction (imho). Cheers, Yves |
