Re: Running a 32 bit Application on 64 bit Linux on ARM

It's a pity. My PI's are really cooling off crying

Re: Running a 32 bit Application on 64 bit Linux on ARM

And what are your <alt_platform> settings?

EDIT: It appears the problem might be limited to ARM Linux machines only. Maybe?
Since the grand failure my Odroid M1 received no task, and since then I only added additional <alt_platforms>, to no avail.

mctom,
Sorry for not being clear. My OrangePi is running Android, like Mike.Gibson’s tablet. The only WCG projects that run on ARM Linux are OPN1, and there aren’t any of those anymore.

Re: Running a 32 bit Application on 64 bit Linux on ARM

Thanks for the explanation. Well, Android is out of question as my M1 is a home server and not a dedicated number cruncher. It will patiently wait for new tasks, possibly in new projects.

I suppose adding <alt_platform> string with android-linux won't work as expected.. Both are linuxes after all and the machine code should be compatible. Hm.

You could try Denis@home, which worked well running Linux on my Odroid N2+. It releases tasks every few days, so you will only have tasks to run intermittently. TN-Grid also worked well on the N2+, but they don’t have any projects running at the moment. I don’t think there will be any Arm Linux tasks on WCG for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I tried that as a backup after the last screw up, and while those WUs run nicely (only tried on a handful of Windows hosts) it runs out of WUs by mid afternoon (Pacific Time) after someone feeding the hopper in the morning (Spain)... :(

So true. When they do have work units it seems they release a couple of hundred thousand at a time, but they get snapped up pretty quickly. They do seem to run pretty well on both Windows and Linux.

Cheers

Re: Running a 32 bit Application on 64 bit Linux on ARM

Can this alt_platform property be modified to pretend to be android? Seems MCM supports android ARM but not linux.
