Re: OpenPandemics - Covid-19: More Info on the Forli Lab Website

Thank you all for the positive feedback!

It is true, that we have a lot of data to crunch and we can definitely use some more computing power, but we are already grateful for all the data we received so far.

We are actively working on the analysis phase, so hopefully we'll have more news to share in the (very?) near future.

Stay tuned, and tanks for the support!

Hopefully GPU's can provide that computing power ;)

I just saw this - what a great update :-) Some of the best 'for the volunteers' information I've seen in ages - thank you.

Would love to hear more about the genetic algorithm sometime - I'm a 'GA geek'...

smile Really looking forward to seeing how GPU performance compares to CPU performance in terms of units crunched--as a sysadmin who started with video work and transitioned to configuration management (think herding hundreds and thousands of machines), it's really been interesting to watch the GPUs evolve and come into their own right over the last 15-20 years or so. I'm thankful that this project has helped me find additional work for the "test lab in a tower" that I needed back in April, and I'm looking forward to what this Quadro M5000 can do outside of Adobe Premiere.

Thanks for the update!
Any info though on what we are crunching now - what target and how many batches there are in this new target?
