Thanks for the link to: Accelerating AUTODOCK4 with GPUs and Gradient-Based Local Search Diogo Santos-Martins1, Leonardo Solis-Vasquez1, Andreas Koch and Stefano Forlia Sure wish we could run some of these WUs. When might that happen??? I've read that AUTODOCK is being developed it two different directions - one to allow GPU use, and one to add support for COVID-19 work, It will be more likely to happen AFTER someone combines those two sets of changes into a new version. "In drug discovery, Oak Ridge National Laboratory ran the Scripps Research Institute’s AutoDock on the GPU accelerated Summit Supercomputer to screen a billion potential drug combinations in just 12 hours." https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2020/06/22/figh...54#cid=ix10_so-twit_en-us ![]() |

Any update on the port for this project? I am wondering whether the Beta on this one has been delayed by the testing for MCM. That is still in progress it seems. |

It has been so long now that I am wondering whether WCG found something that needed to be changed by the scientists. It is also possible that the science is advancing so rapidly with the coronaviruses that Scripps wanted to change something themselves.
But I am not doing the CPU work while waiting for the GPU to come along. A status update would be useful, if they want to keep the interest up. |

From the August 2020 update:
----------------------------------------"The World Community Grid development team is starting to create work units for initial alpha testing. Their current issue is creating work units that can run on both CPU and GPU, rather than needing to create two different versions, which would add complexity to the project. The next step within IBM will be a security review of the new version. The work is ongoing and there's currently no estimate for when it will be completed." ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Very interesting, but they could just ditch the CPU version and do the work on the GPUs. There would be so many crunchers jumping on it that it would go faster than that justified by the present delay. And it would leave the CPU cores free for other projects.
