Re: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 is Now Live

Judging from how long it takes for IBM to complete their Security Check of OPG it's safe to say they have no sense of urgency.

If one can't hit the ground running then how can a project be an effective response to a pandemic???

Not sure what you mean? The project has been rotating on my devices since they released it.

Aurum is referring to the GPU application for OPN that has been under security review by IBM for several months (3 or 4, I guess).

the security review is probably taking longer due to the pandemic. The project is still doing a lot of work -- good work -- fast. I doubt it is as simple as we might think it is.

Re: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 is Now Live

Hi all, I apologize in the case the question was already asked: has someone figured out the exact number of valid quorum=2 tasks in order to receive quorum=1 tasks on that host?
sometimes I attach some pc that I repaired only to stress test it, and I do non want to waste power. I don't know if quorum=2 tasks are validated agaitst potentially untrusted host or already trusted hosts, because in the second case the work has some value but much litttler than case one. Thanks :)

Re: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 is Now Live

I have singletons, validated as such. My -0 units all seem to be singletons and I do have some -1 units.

I should have added that it applies across all 4 devices - PC, Laptop, Tablet & phone. All my -0s are singletons.

Hummm. I have a Ryzen 3900X that has been running 23 cores for two days, and they are all _0. And I have a Ryzen 3950X that has been running for at least a week (as far back as the log goes), and they are almost all (90%) _0 also.

And then I have still another Ryzen 3900X that has been running for at least a week that is also almost all (90%) _0, except that in the current batch running now they are about 50% _0 and 50% _1. So I think they periodically recheck your status, though I don't know how long it takes to be trusted; probably a week would do. (Whether it is by time or number of work units is also an interesting question. Maybe they adjust for the number of cores you are running.)

Re: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 is Now Live

In the FAQ I found the following:
Zero redundant sciences require >= 20 (twenty) consecutive validation to be allowed to run them alone

Have you checked a sample of your units in result status? A -0 could be the first of a pair and the -1 validating someone who is not "trusted". The recent batch sounds interesting and worthy of closer attention in result status.
