Upgrading to 7.14.3

On Facebook WCG has announced Windows users should upgrade to 7.14.3 for security reasons. I've downloaded the new version and am wondering if I should wait until all jobs finish or can I upgrade now and it will just continue on from the last checkpoints.

Re: Upgrading to 7.14.3

You can just suspend (on the activity tab) and run the upgrade.
The tasks resume from their last checkpoint.

I just did that myself, using the latest version on the BOINC website (7.16.5).

Re: Upgrading to 7.14.3

I upgraded "on the fly" (shutdown WCG agent, upgrade, start WCG agent) without any problems. All tasks restarted from the last checkpoint.

Re: Upgrading to 7.14.3

Thanks for the insight. I was running all SCC which has nice short checkpoints so that made it easy. I didn't even suspend or shutdown the client. Just started installing the new version and it took care of everything.

Re: Upgrading to 7.14.3

I just upgraded to 7.14.3, and Norton Security Suite gave me the warning "BOINC Client does not have a valid digital signature." It said everything else about the app was OK, and it installed and is running just fine.
