Yes, it turns out to be 7.16.5. But I didn't sign up for beta testing; I installed BOINC back in September and it was working just fine the last time when workunits were available (Nov. 2019, I think).
----------------------------------------Funny coincidence that WCG would resume Android work after such a long hiatus at the same time that Android and BOINC upgraded to versions that are incompatible with each other. Maybe, just maybe the WCG science apps also need recompiling for the newest Androids. Certainly no troubles at all on v7 with 7.16.3. The 7.16.5 is not even offered to my device via the 'early access' beta channel.
