Magic Smoke

Hello All,
I've got an issue I'd like to post to the group. I have an older Compaq ML 350 dual that has been killing or blowing the PS units. I currently run 1 rig with the same setup and have no problems. I've switched cases PS, connectors between the good and the bad, and after about 3 hrs the PS will smoke. I've checked the grounding, connections, wiring, and even switched mobos, but the result is the same. Tempture is normal vs base in the working unit..... I'm down to 1 known good PS, so any help would be welcomed.

Thank you for your time, and be well all

Rick

It sounds like the problem is in the computer, not the power supplies.

Would it be worth keeping the last power supply and getting rid of the computer?

dual P-II 600MHz CPUs
This is probably borderline these days....

Re: Magic Smoke

restof,
Thanks for the reply, and the idea has crossed my mind. I'm thinking I'll pull what I know is good, for a new and improved Frankenputer devilish and see what happens. The last new and improved, wasn't so improved, but you gotta keep trying. BTW I may have spare parts for yours depending on the mobo etc.

Have a great day,

Rick
