I'm trying to understand what this means in the device profile:
If you are using version 6.2 of the software, then the number of processors used will be the lesser of the two fields below. If you are using a version before 6.2, then only the 'at most' field will be used. Am I correct in assuming that because I am running BOINC 7.14.2 and I set the number of processors option to 4 and leave the percent of processors option at its default 100%, then my BOINC client will only use 4 cores since 4 is less than my total amount of cores? I am asking because I have an Intel i5-8600, and I believe its a 6 core non-hyperthreaded CPU, but BOINC still uses all 6 cores. |

7.n Is supposed to ignore the absolute value and only use the percent, with threads rounded down, so 75% of 6 would become 4, not 5.
There are a number of items on the WCG device profiles that do not properly reflect the 7 clients local settings. |
