Has anyone noticed BOINIC learns how much time it will take.?

Over the past 3 weeks I noticed that BONIC has gotten much better (within 10min of predicting elapsed time remaining to crunch ARP. Maybe their consistent size allows them to estimate time to compute based on previous WU. When I started crunching ARP the estimates were wildly optimistic.

Actually, the FPOPS in the task headers of new tasks are drawn from returned results at WCG, which is the basis to calculate the estimation, also using the benchmark tags stored on your client.

<p_fpops>2547132783.235671</p_fpops>
<p_iops>9195472079.934233</p_iops>

This generic benchmark is taken periodically to test how well your computer does. If you change the CPU clock speed, the numbers after a test should go up/down too.
