I have noticed that an ARP1 task running on my machine has already validated. I contemplated aborting it. I have contemplated the same. Reason why I have never aborted a task like this is because I am not sure if it would get sent out to another host after I aborted such task From my experience I believe you get the runtime and points when the result is returned. As for late results validating (or otherwise)... as I understand it, any task for a viable WU will validate if it lands before the other tasks have passed far enough through assimilation to be marked for purging. Otherwise, it is likely to be marked Too Late (and [by default] no credit). So it's all a matter of timing :-) Cheers - Al. P.S. -- as always, happy to be corrected if evidence is provided :-) |

Many thanks to everyone who responded to my "To abort or not to abort" question.
Cheers, Mark |

This looks like a fresh ARP WU. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/680755350 . I got it as a resend, but it was created 3/15

This looks like a fresh ARP WU. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/contribution/workunit/680755350 . I got it as a resend, but it was created 3/15 I've seen this behaviour before. Chances are that one of the Pending Verification tasks will be marked as Invalid. Adri |

I often get these as resends. I think there is a mismatch between new Macs and old macs and linux, so it is a coin toss on if I will get a valid or invalid. At least they still give a minimum amount of credit for an invalid.
I wasn't questioning the resend. I haven't seen an ARP that was freshly minted in a while, and just wanted to let people know that there is a trickle of new ARPs going out. |

Again no movement of extremes. There are 318 all of which appear to be stuck.
----------------------------------------2 accelerated moved. There seem to be 10 accelerated moving out of 451 as supplied by Adri. None escaped to normal. 562 normals moved out of 25,858 in the generations being released. There are now 7,434 held up in generation 143. Sunday Report
ARP is running slowly. The forecast is averaged over the last 5 weeks. All classifications have stayed put.. There are still 3 ultras in generations 21 & 22, 8 extremes in generations 104 - 110 and 12 in generations 115 - 124, None of those generations contain more than 2 units. We then have 295 extremes in generations 125 - 131. All of them appear to be stuck. There are now 318 extremes in generations 21 to 131 but all seem to be stuck. There are now 450 accelerated units in generations 132 to 136 and 34,841 normal units in generations 137 to 146. Only 9 of the accelerated units would seem to be stuck - moving. WCG are now releasing units in generations up to 142. 6,959 units have validated this week. Based on the last 5 weeks, we would complete ARP1 in December 2027 but the number of units currently being issued is less than the earlier averaged units. Mike |
