Thank you, spRocket.
They are logged. You are lucky. I haven't seen a resend since the shutdown started. Mike |

Given the way boinc backs off when it doesn't get a task for a long time, I set up a schedule to update the project every 30 minutes. I finally got up to my usual 6 ARP tasks overnight, but now it's back to 5. It took awhile to build up the tasks, but a lot should be timing out/erroring out on those PCs who downloaded way more than they can complete by the deadlines.

I'm starting to build up a few tasks here and there (particularly on my slow machines) as resends drip out. Currently two ARPs are crunching:

Mini update.
The results being returned are winding down. There has been no movement over the last 24 hours in either the new or old ultras. Very little movement of extremes either. There are 117 units in the extreme range and 116 logged as such by WCG so only 1 unit which was created while still in accelerated status or which hasn't moved since being unstuck. There are now 300 units in the leading generation so the definition would normally have advanced but for the shutdown as no new units are being issued. Mike |

Mike,
----------------------------------------Just noticed that I've been sent ARP1_0034316_098_1, which is part of a twin 24 second step size. To potentially make matters worse, it is running 32 bit!!! Don't think I'll have any problems with the deadline, but I can't speak for my wingman... What's odd about this is that it might appear to be like Mark's 34173 from a couple of days ago, but I note that generation 093 was reported (as a triplet) by spRocket a fortnight ago, so I'm confused! Did it get stuck again and none of us noticed??? Cheers - Al. [Edited to note spRocket's earlier report] [Edit 1 times, last edit by alanb1951 at Feb 17, 2022 9:49:19 PM] |

Al
34316 has taken 13 days to advance only 5 generations. That is too long for an extreme, so it must have stuck again and just been released again. As it has a 24 second time step and is only a twin it must have been unstuck in generation 098. If it had been unstuck any earlier, it would have been a triplet as they become triplets as soon as they are regenerated. This would be the one that I mentioned in my mini update today. Mike |

Another Sunday, so another full report. This one limited by the shutdown
The 3 'new' ultras need to advance by 5 generations per week to catch up to the calculated completion date. They are currently in generations 008, 010 & 011 so have averaged 3 generations in the week. Only the last of the 'old' ultras is still discernible, now in generation 093. The rest are mixed in with the other unstuck units. There are 117 units in the extreme range of which 116 are listed by WCG. That means 1 has yet to move since being restarted or was created before its generation became extreme. The definitions of accelerated(priority) & normal have stagnated with the shutdown and extreme has caught up since last week at 125, 135 & 120, respectively. 43,232 units have validated in the week (down to 6176.0 per day) so we now have 1,957,261 remaining until the end of the project. We cracked the 2 million mark. My calculated completion date is now 2 January 2023, but has been affected by the drop off from the shutdown. Please add an extra 2 months for the shutdown. This assumes that a full generation 182 will be the last and everyone continues as now until the end. If those University machines return from their holiday that might shorten the timespan but it currently means that those 3 new ultras will have to be validated every 34 hours average for the whole period. The end of the year is less likely as there may be a drop-off of crunchers because of the shutdown. There has been movement in generation 098 at last. At least 1 had been stuck. Mike |

I got 11 ARP1-resends, all from "No Reply-s" after the 6 days deadline.
Generations 126, 128, 129, 131, 132 and 133. Too much loaded on the 14th? The deadline now is 3 days. |

I have noticed the same when checking out my PVs. Could be that they didn't realise that the normals had changed from 7+1 days to 6 days without warning.

I'm processing my last ARP for a while. I doubt i'll get any resends.
Thanks for the update Mike. I hope to see all the familiar names posting again in two months. |
