Only 28 of the 60 unstuck units have been recorded, but 4 of them have been recorded twice and 1 three times.

Mike,
I've now picked up ARP1_0034102_101 (36 second time step), first recorded by entity on 11 January at generation 93. Cheers, Mark |

Thank you Mark & adriverhoef.
Today's update from WCG indicates the possibility that more of the stuck units may have been released. Mike |

Mike,
I've also got: ARP1_0033231_090, a twin with 36 second timestep, and ARP1_0033872_114, a triplet with 36 second timestep. Cheers, Mark |

Not sure that I understand unstuck/stuck units, but I just picked up ARP1_0034099_086_0 which seems old

----------------------------------------Welcome to this thread. A while ago there were 6 units which failed to produce valid results. They are the ultra laggards as they were way behind everything else. There were sorted out by WCG/Delft and have been progressing nicely ever since and referred to as ultras. Then there were some 130 others stuck. Half of them were 'unstuck' by changing the time step from 36 seconds to 24 seconds in late December. They were also progressing nicely so their time step was reverted to 36 seconds. 2 of them seem to have restuck. The 'stuck' units were those that remained stuck because they would not progress with the change of time step. The intention was to back track them by a couple of generations and try the change of time step again. This may have just started today. We will know more tomorrow when WCG produce their daily report. Your unit is a query as it could be one of the ultras or it could be a unit unstuck today. Could you please look at the progress column in BOINC Manager to see how big the increments are? If the progress increases by 0.020 or 0.021% then that is a 36 second time step and it is one of the ultras. If it increases by 0.013 or 0.014% then it is a newly unstuck unit with a 24 second time step. I presume that you are aware that the 0034099 part of the identity refers to the 3 KM x 3 KM patch of Africa and the 086 refers to the generation of the calculation it is doing. Each generation being a successive 2 day period. I trust this explains all. Mike [Edit 1 times, last edit by Mike.Gibson at Jan 24, 2022 11:04:59 PM] |

Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation! My unit is incrementing by .020/.021% so it would seem to be one of the ultras. |
