A couple months ago, I created a new device profile that excluded FAH2 from my laptops because of its insistence of shoving long-running tasks in the front of the queue with a ridiculously short deadline and I was tired of wasting CPU cycles only to be told the results were too late to receive any credits. That worked.
Yesterday, I completely excluded FAH2 because I'm doing work on my desktop PCs that make the tasks take longer to run and it was clear that even on them, the tasks weren't going to finish in time. Now, not only does every communication with the server insist on shoving more FAH2 projects into my queues, it's doing it to my laptops, too. Yes, I've triple checked my general and device profiles. FAH2 isn't checked in any of them. That hasn't stopped getting new tasks every time I abort one. I can suspend the task to keep it from running, but that prevents the queue from adding new jobs. Any idea how to get WCG to actually use my project settings? |

Do you have the "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project." option selected in your device profile?
If you do then you can get work from other projects than those you selected. |

That might be it. I have everything but FAH2 selected, so there should be plenty of work from projects I've selected, but maybe I'm giving the decision process too much credit.
I've unchecked the box, so we'll see if that takes care of it. Thanks for the tip. |
