Is there any kind of parameter for an AMD CPU that reduces processor based on heat? I have an Intel I9-7960 that runs solid at 100% but it does not have 64 processes I remember member TonyEllis wrote this to control the CPU temperature:https://www.sraellis.tk/master-frame-control_cpu_temp.html |

Hi guys I use AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X and have the same issue and i see it only with WCG.
----------------------------------------base clock 3,5, boost clock for top cores 3,69, temp is always kept at 68C What I see is when tasks load CPU up to the point when boost clocks for that top cores have to lower for example up to 3,63 then boinc stops using 1-2 or even 3 threads. Other projects like Rosetta, NFS, Gerasim always use all given threads no matter of the temperatures and frequencies! I use GPU too, so when I stop it and temp in a case lower a bit - boinc starts sometimes to use all cores again, sometimes not. That is so weird because clocks never go below base level, so we pretty much wasting out processing power. ------ Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit Kernel Linux 5.2.21-050221-generic x86_6 ![]() [Edit 5 times, last edit by diplomat at Nov 1, 2019 3:36:18 PM] |

GPU jobs 'reserve' a CPU thread or a fraction there-off to manage the GPU job. Unless you configure with app_config and cc_Config, worst case an 8 core CPU client with 2 GPU jobs running will only allow 6 CPU jobs.
