Is the server down or is it just mine backing off? For whatever reason, it has been backing out for me all morning. I was looking for news, but hadn't seen any. Thanks to UDMonitor, I can survive about 5 more days of uncertainty before I run out of workunits to process.

its good to see that there was a post about the planned maintanance
but it would be good if they could put the time in gmt to as theres lots in england who crunch like myself american time means nothing to us over the water gmt time would be good to so we would know when the grid was down in our own time |

Unless my brain is lapsing again (wouldn't surprise me) UTC is the same as GMT.

Vaio --
UTC is almost the same as GMT. The difference -- GMT is based on astronomical observations and is subject to very slight seasonal variations due to the rotation of the earth. UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) is based on an atomic clock and not subject to these variations. Otherwise, for us folks, for all intent and purposes, we can think of the two as the same. Saturday, 2005-10-22 14:00 to 22:00 UTC, we will have the grid servers down, so agents will be getting the "paused" message during this time. No action is required on the part of members. Hopefully, the entire 8-hour window will not be necessary. For a small period of that time, members will not be able to log into the web site and forums. Sorry for any inconvenience. I missed it because I didn't think of that as an "issue". Anyhow, the additional disk space is always good news.During this maintenance window, we will be increasing our disk storage in preparation for the launch of a new project and the Linux agent, both within just a few weeks. The servers appear to have come back up about 21:00 UTC (GMT). My agent that was paused has picked up a work unit and is again crunching.
