sad S10 Update Dilemma SOLVED

After up dating 2 of my S10's with Samsung's faulty update download, It now takes about 22 hours to complete a task. It used to take 3.25 to 4.4 hours. Has BOINC gotten on Samsung's butt to fix the problem?

Re: S10 Update Dilemma

I seriously doubt it. Plus you would have to pin down what is causing it to take that long. Is it throttling? Is it pausing?

Re: S10 Update Dilemma

It is throttling big time, but only on the two S10's which downloaded the faulty update not on my other four S10'. I can tell with a glance at my infrared thermometer gun. If it reads 76 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, the machine is purring. If it reads 65 to 68 degrees farenheit, the results are definitely indicative of lower processor speeds with their inherent lower temps and dramatically longer run times. How can one tell if it is pausing.

Re: S10 Update Dilemma

Check in advanced settings how much % of CPU use can pause the app. ;)

Re: S10 Update Dilemma

You may have to also go into the Android settings for battery consumption. I cannot remember which version they started implementing it but they can close background apps if they aren't exempted. On my Huaweii Sensa, I had to go to Settings>Advanced Settings>Battery Manager> Protected Apps>toggle the switch for BOINC. Otherwise it would close BOINC's apps.

Edit: The Sensa I have has Android 6

Re: S10 Update Dilemma SOLVED

The updates weren't affecting the performance. I wiggled the cable and plug and set the pause if battery above to 90% down from 100%. It is crunching full speed now on both of the affected S10's. Pausing was apparently the issue. It was not a throttling issue. Thanks for help on this issue guys. Well done!
