This is my first message at this forum after 10 years. I attend WorldCommunityGrid about 14 years ago. Last days IBM team start to borring me. Just I'd like to say I start to borring about IBM engineers' replies.
----------------------------------------Please fixProject Progress Bars asap if you can not do it please quit your job. Please do not reply this message and start to argument. Okay tomorrow I will send IBM CEO message and report your team can not develop very easy programming and mess up WorldCommunityGrid project.
----------------------------------------How can US Govermet trust IBM about Super Computers? I'm US Tax Payer and I do not want to my Government work with IBM. Specially military research projects. In 2019 project teams report to IBM completed jobs by manually. If I know this stupid thing I never start this project and spend 15 years. IBM mess up this Word Comminity Grid work. 10 years ago You can not fix cookie and session problems at this website. 15 years ago not estimate project finish dates. 10 years ago not update BOINC download links . Standford's Folding at home project team's more effective. IBM did not devolop GPU project with commercial reasons. We're not stupid. That's enough. This project is not IBM's commercial brand. Personally I feel much comfortable with the fact that completion percentages are not available when scientists themselves don't know how much work they will ask us to compute.

Jim,
It's good to hear the opposite position to the majority in the forum. Are you able to share a little more about your thoughts on the progress bars? I can understand your problem with wild or inaccurate estimates of when a project might finish, but what is your objection to knowing how much work is in the pipeline (in terms of the number of Work Units likely to be sent out in the known future)? And do you not agree that the currently shown progress bars are all but useless? Thanks! |
