I am currently using windows 10 on a I 7 5960 X running stock at 3 GHz. Currently I am averaging run-time of just under 2 hours to sometimes as much as 4 hours for Zika. I am wondering is Windows 7 any quicker at processing tasks? If there is a noticeable difference I would be happy to move to Windows 7

I seriously doubt there is any meaningful difference between 10 and 7 but I seem to recall something about Windows 10 being better at memory management so I would stick with 10. Switch to Linux if you want a real performance boost at ZIKA, SCC and other VINA-based sciences.

Major nagware seems to have been re-launched by MS to move onto 10.

Major nagware seems to have been re-launched by MS to move onto 10. I do not follow what you mean. Are you saying that Microsoft are reintroducing bloatware into Windows 10? ![]() |
