I just got a new i7 (8 processing threads!!!). It has been two years since I have set up a computer to resume processing if the computer reset to install updates prior to logging in?
----------------------------------------Any instructions for setting up PC or Bonic config to enable would be appreciated. ![]() ![]() |

If BOINC is installed as a service it runs at start-up without needing to login.
----------------------------------------You can un-instal and re-instal but may lose tasks in progress. Paul.

It should be an option during BOINC installation.
----------------------------------------If you're running GPU tasks at another project they will not be able to process with BOINC as a service. An FYI. ![]() |

Whatever... If you really want to crunch using GPUs (in other projects), you can configure your system's logon options, and setup automatic login.
Press Win+R to get a Run window, and enter the command:"control userpasswords2": ![]() Uncheck the checkbox on the top: ![]() And enter your autologin credentials after you clicked "confirm". ![]() |

Very cool. Thanks Wow that is one seriously robust password!!!! Or is that normal for Chinese Characters? Nope... Chinese characters cannot be used in password string (IMEs are unavailable while entering in a password textbox), and I saved the password in my phone's "Notes" app, so it may not be THAT robust as you think ![]() |

I think my max password length is just 13. What you do with ROBUST password is another matter!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by dcs1955 at Jan 25, 2019 3:41:09 AM] |
