Status changed from INVALID to TOO LATE for approximately 95% of my cases. Is it the final ?

Another reason why a 24-hour deadline is anathema.

Status changed from INVALID to TOO LATE for approximately 95% of my cases. Is it the final ? MCh I'm looking into that. It appears that we have received 5 successful results on one of your workunits which marks the entire result as invalid. I'm going to boost the max number of success results to 7 for these and then tell it to revalidate them. Thanks, -Uplinger |

I have 3 completed WUs listed as Too Late, but they are still within 24 hours from my receipt of them. Mike |

The server still has about 24k workunits to process. It was over 112k earlier when i started the fix. For the time being I disabled the file_deleter so that if more cleanup is needed I still have the results.
----------------------------------------As for the too lates. The transitioner marked them as too late due to them still needing validation, BUT since the validator hasn't rechecked those workunits, it hasn't updated their status. I believe once the validator finishes the final 24k, (probably the next hour) we should have the too_late issue resolved. Again, I am sorry about this and appreciate the members letting us know in the forums. The root cause was a programming error on my part. I put a new check into the validator to help fix the issue from last week that was stopping the assimilator. Since I've been working on a new monitor for the load balancers in bash, I took if (0) as true. In C/C++ this is not the case... Thus, kaboom and lots of workunits marked improperly. I basically had it recheck everything from when I installed the new validator yesterday. Note: the new monitor for the load balancer is what caught the issue with downloads and I need to comment in the forums about the work done there. Thanks again for your patience and sorry for the issue. -Uplinger [Edit 1 times, last edit by uplinger at Nov 13, 2018 7:25:55 PM] |

Just read that the Validator is back online, and checked my status.
All 25 invalid are valid now. Thanks for the quick response and fixing the problem @uplinger. Started my Boinc-client again with the cached WUs :) regards. |

Short Update to my previous post.
just returned 3 WUs which were nearly complete before i stopped the project, and checked now after uploading the result. All 3 are valid, so everything seems to be fine. Thx, and greetings from Austria. |
