Pulled the 64 bit version of 7.14.2 from
https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.14.2_windows_x86_64.exe Ran installer and confirmed previous drive location preferences and installed over 64 bit 7.10.2. The installer stopped BOINC service, whirred and asked for the manager to be run, but failed to launch the service. Went to task manager Services tab, selected BOINC and hit start and all went, picking up where jobs were left off, last checkpoints. No booting required, all is fine. |

I posted it here because this problem started immediately after installing the new version of WCG - I should have mentioned that in my initial post, sorry.
I checked my settings again and I have it set to leave 1GB free and not to use more than 90%, so I should be good there. ms |

BrianTheRoman,
----------------------------------------So that is over-riding the website settings. Either change the local settings or clear them so website settings used. Paul.

Any Idea, why my WCG BOING Points got lost on the 16th of November? Further the last Boinc Job with Points for Boing in my WCG Account shows the 19th of November! In the Seti Statistics my WCG Acount is not longer named under other Projects which had been so beforce the 16th?

If so, then your boinc statistics will not be visible to the stats sites. |

Got the message to upgrade...tried to install...installation failed...with error 1706: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Tried to uninstall...get the same message on the uninstall. It appears there is a problem with the world community grid.MSI Is it going to be fixed soon? It's likely because the new installer cannot find the original installer of the previous version. Re-download the old one and run, or clean the Windows installer registry of any BOINC entries with CCleaner or something. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Nov 23, 2018 6:24:21 PM] |

I trying uninstalling and re-installing (even an older version) but get the same error message. And even the uninstall fails with the same error. I have been unable to run any projects, if I cannot install BOINC. Please help with this issue!!! Thanks, Neal |
