OK -- let me get this straight -- I'm so confused (as usual).
When I go to "Download" and see "The World Community Grid software will be downloaded for: ", it actually means that the cited BOINC version 7.14.2 installer will be downloaded. And there is no actual World Community Grid software -- just the science applications. And the above BOINC version is set to point to World Community Grid. I went into task manager, and have BOINC open, under "BOINC Manager for Windows", I see:
BOINC Manager for Windows Two command prompt entries "Console Window Host" The science application running under BOINC (I'm just running 1 task at the present) I also "BOINC System Tray for Windows" running as a background process. I see no application running listed as "World Community Grid." And I am running BOINC Manager Version 7.6.29 (x64). So, if I set "No new tasks", and upon task completion, download and install "The World Community Grid software", it will delete all the 64-bit registry keys and install the 32-bit version of BOINC 7.14.2. Am I close to being right? |

I have an OpenZika download that is showing 22d 02:56:55 and CLIMBING. I don't think this is supposed to happen. Can anyone fill me in, here?

----------------------------------------That sounds broken, more so if you mean during download. It will have timed out on server by now. Suggest re-start computer and if workunit still there, abort it. Paul.

----------------------------------------WCG re-skin BOINC so the headings etc. show WCG where it would say BOINC for install from original site. The executables have the same names so taskmanager shows as you see. WCG version is security checked so IBM and others accept it for office use. This version is 32 bit but can run 64 bit tasks on 64 bit computers. To upgrade: Download from WCG Stop BOINC, at checkpoint if possible or wait for tasks to end Run downloaded installer Re-boot if prompted Paul.

Got the message to upgrade...tried to install...installation failed...with error 1706: The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Tried to uninstall...get the same message on the uninstall. It appears there is a problem with the world community grid.MSI Is it going to be fixed soon? |

This occurs with a program that is installed when attempting to un-install, e.g. for upgrade, and the original install file is not found.
----------------------------------------It may be possible to download the installer for the old version and re-install then upgrade. Paul.

I'm getting this notice:
GPUGRID: Notice from server Short runs (2-3 hours on fastest card) needs 318.08MB more disk space. You currently have 1589.27 MB available and it needs 1907.35 MB. 2018-11-17 5:11:28 AM Thing is when I go to the Disk tab it says: free, available to BOINC: 162.08 GB I've already tried uninstalling WCG and re-installing it, to no avail. |

----------------------------------------Have you got limit set in profile, "Use no more than: 1.5 Gigabytes of disk space" ? It would be better to post a new thread for this, here or on GPUGRID. Paul.
