I had a power cut a couple of days ago and since then BOINC has been unable to connect to the internet. All other apps on my computer can connect, the speed test shows up OK. I have even reinstalled BOINC with no luck. I have restarted my router, restarted my compute, I am at my wits end! Please can someone point me in the right direction.
----------------------------------------NB I am connected via WiFi or via Ethernet. Neither works with BOINC By the way, you can tell that internet works OK as this message / cry for help was posted successfully.

First then, from the view>advanced screen, click on the activity tab and check that "network activity always" is ticked

Thanks but that was my first port of call. It is of course checked. I think that I have narrowed the problem down to Little Snitch which now seems unable to make a rule to allways allow BOINC internet access

check that "network activity always" is ticked Very occasionally found that the sequence below helps to resolve a problem.. untick item in question, save, close, re-open, tick item then save

Rod,
I've seen similar issues to Tony on Linux. The bullets in the Activity drop-down seem to be able to get out-of-phase with the actual setting. I would try clicking 'Network activity always' and then checking the log entry -- that does seem to correctly reflect the status. Good luck getting this sorted! |
