So went through some of the amazon training courses for fun, and it sounds like scaling up and scaling down instances is pretty automatic for making many virtual machines as needed in real time.
I think you should make a partnership with amazon or ubuntu or one of the virtual machine type vendors, to automate donations based on time goals or project donations. For example: lets say I would like to donate 100 years in one month (or 100 years for cancer research or whatever project i choose), it would be great to then let the big company cost effectively run that workload for us at a known cost. I like passive donation; I really do, but I also like the idea of just paying someone to use more efficient and effective resources to accomplish my own personal goals. Automation + Efficiency for a fixed price, and any inclined user can quickly reach their goals. Load Balancers and peak traffic times could also make this easy for amazon to make more money without disrupting network traffic. |
