I get this message whenever I try and attach my android phone to the project. I have attached to other projects with the phone and can attach my Linux laptop to the project using the same username and password. Wondering if this is to do with past use of Gridcoin account manager though I have uninstalled the version using that and re-installed the one from the play stall to no effect.

For WCG on Android, BOINC asks for your username instead of your email address (or vice versa, I can't remember at the moment). Make sure you are typing in the one that it wants. It has tricked me several times in the past as well.

I get the same thing whichever I use though my understanding is it should be the username but have tried both repeatedly.

The only thing I can think of then would be case sensitivity. Make sure your username and password is proper case as that could be an issue. I have had Android auto capitalize the first letter of usernames I am typing and programs have come back with errors.

Found in search:
----------------------------------------1st try attaching to WCG with the email account, instead of user account and your member password. 2nd, then do it the way WCG wants it, member name + password. It may be necessary to first attach to a 2nd project first which uses the regular email/password signup method. Try Asteroid, as someone did succeed attaching the device there. Have attached to moo wrapper and citizen science grid successfully though the latter doesn't seem to have tasks for Android. I have also tried attaching manually entering the project url this morning all to no avail.

Can be marked as solved. Was putting in, "Dave" as name rather than catchercradle which also goes in as username instead of email. Really obvious once I had done it. Even went to BOINC site to try installing an earlier version of BOINC before I thought to try that.
