I've upgraded from Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia to Linux Mint 19 Tara. It's a major improvement for me. My network has both Win7 and Linux computers. I used to have a hard time remotely controlling Linux rigs. With Linux 19 NoMachine works like it should and it's so nice. I did the first couple using the Mint Upgrade approach which took hours and resulted in various problems. I made a bootable USB drive and did a fresh install and that works so much better. Be sure to use the latest version as the first versions were buggy.

I'm using LInux Mint 19 on a desktop and a laptop. I appreciate the superior GUI (especially the taskbar). I haven't noticed improvements to functionality though.

The improved functionality for me is on headless computers using NoMachine to serve their desktop to my PC. Instead of taking a minute between mouse clicks it's almost as fast as having a monitor on the remote networked computer.
----------------------------------------I originally switched from Win7 to Linux 18.3 because the PCIe bus runs at least 10% faster. But then I regretted it because I lost my great TightVNC remote control and got NoMachine sluggishness. ![]() ...KRI please cancel all shadow-banning |

After converting to Tara my BOINC Managers are unable to connect to the localhost. I don't know if it's something I;m doing or a bug. Is this happening to anyone else???

Hmm, I have have to give this a try. Esp since Teamviewer thinks I am a commercial user and kicks me off in a couple seconds. Ubuntu 18.04 also won't open terminal or a file browser so it's pretty stuck.
