World Community Grid - View Thread - Website Verification Issues

Sorry for being so un-tech-savvy in this issue.

So, two years ago I learned about WCG in some online game (Improbable Island), installed WCG (or is that BOINC?), and started collecting the little in-game bonuses. This year my old computer broke, and when I installed it on the new device, the game started giving me error messages.

What I tried:
1) Entered the verification code. It's different now from the one that was saved on II before - error remains.
(Confusion remains, too, so many keys and codes in my profile page... wrong one?)
2) Joined the Improbable Island's Distributed Supercomputer team. No avail.
3) Asked the mods on II for help. They think the problem lies on the WCG side.

Here is what the II mod wrote:

The problem at WCG is that while your old device's results are still credited to your username Nebelstreif, they are no longer being included as having come from a member of the Improbable Island team. This has to be a glitch somewhere in their system. We have proof in the form of our record of your WCG points that, until you switched devices, that connection with the old device was working just fine. It was definitely registered as belonging to the II team.

Is that a glitch or just a result of my clueless fixing attempts, and putting the mod on the wrong track?
Do I need to be a team member? Have I been a team member before? I wasn't when I logged in to retrieve the verification code. Can't really remember what I had to do to set it up back then, all I know is it worked like a charm.
