Yesterday I installed this new version of the BOINC client and manager:
----------------------------------------$ rpm -qa boinc* This morning I suspended the 13th workunit in the queue - it wasn't running yet (0.000%) - via the GUI and looked at the output of: $ boinccmd --get_tasks [snip]...[/snip] 12) -----------[snip]...[/snip] Problem: The line "suspended via GUI:" has been removed for workunits that aren't running yet! (*) This means that you cannot tell anymore if a workunit that isn't running yet has been suspended via the GUI! This also means that you cannot tell from 'boinccmd' which workunits have been suspended in order to unsuspend them - without a GUI. Conclusion: * if you suspend a not-running-yet workunit via 'boinccmd' - you cannot tell which workunit has been suspended via 'boinccmd' - you cannot tell which workunit has been suspended without a GUI. I would gladly like to have this fixed! - CPU time at last checkpoint: - current CPU time: - estimated CPU time remaining: - fraction done: - swap size: - working set size: for not-running-yet workunits, but I think one line too many has been removed: - suspended via GUI: EDIT: changed "woouldn't" into "wouldn't" [Edit 2 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Mar 9, 2018 1:34:17 PM] |

Has this been reported to the distribution or repository maintainer? Not much WCG can do about it.

7.9.x is also a Beta version. 7.x where the x is an even # are production recommended releases.

Thank you guys.
----------------------------------------@Doneske: In any case not reported by me so far, because I wanted to see if someone would be correcting me if I had been overlooking something, or if more people were agreeing that this is not good. I can't find this problem (looking for "boinc suspended") on Bugzilla. Where can I check or report? Answer: $ rpm -qi boinc-client | grep URL URL : http://boinc.berkeley.edu/ Bug URL : https://bugz.fedoraproject.org/boinc-client @mmonnin: I'm not used to refuse upgrades ($ dnf up) whenever I see an odd-numbered version. Are you sure it is a beta? Nothing is mentioning a beta version here: $ rpm -q --changes boinc-client [Edit 1 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Mar 9, 2018 4:21:37 PM] |
