From the statistics page, it shows 1358 packets were returned yesterday (31 July 2018) so some folks are still getting packets.
I was signed up to get packets for Help Stop TB for many months and never received a first packet. Since I don't like projects that are likely to end before I earn a badge, I unchecked Help Stop TB - I don't want another "failure" in my contribution page. |

The why is that there are very few to go around. While the other active projects have over 100,000 units per day HSTB averages roughly 1300. A fuller explanation would have to come from the researchers.
One thing I'd like to know is what is the success rate of units of each project. I get the impression that a lot of HSTB units are resends, but that may be because those are the ones I can get without implementing tricks. |

I have gotten up to 9 years - 48 days of CPU time using the technique that BladeD pointed at and I only have 2 desktop computers and 1 old laptop requesting work at the "sweet time". I also have to check them and switch profiles to fill the queue with other work every so they are always busy with something. It has taken a long time, but it is slow and steady, like the tortoise. You can do it if you want it bad enough.
----------------------------------------Sometimes my 2-day queues are full of HSTB, and other days there is none at all. The only difference between what was explained then, and now is that the "sweet time" appears to have moved from 03/33 to 17/47 minutes after the hour. Cheers ![]() ![]() |

If you teach your computer to ask at the right time dcs1955, you won't have to wait for another unicorn to pass by. No unclean living required either. I found 5 HSTB WUs in my little tin cup today when I came home. [no unicorns were injured by this message] Cheers ![]() ![]() |

I have seen references to some a secret mechanism to get HSTB WU. Since my GGF died of TB I know it is very IMPORTANT but i know I can contribute in other areas without playing games . ![]() ![]() |

I quite understand your situation dcs1955. There are many things I have forgotten as well. I still get back up on the horse to stay in shape (in a manner of speaking). I am a former systems engineer and still try to use the principles I employed in my past career. Just open the Task Scheduler in the System Tools part of the windows menu and explore while reviewing the secret instructions. You can't break anything (well you can if you try real hard). Then you can join our secret society and obtain the secret handshake. Cheers ![]() ![]() |
