Re: project status website never fixed

ah - rip. Just a few more WUs out in the wild - the risk of a shortage begins.

Re: project status website never fixed

Still have 39 WUs in progress (about the same as I had yesterday), and one of my machines just pulled another 6 WUs ~15 minutes ago. Don't think it's dead just yet.

Re: project status website never fixed

How is a FAH2 taskname constructed?
Let's have a look at the ones from 2019-12-24 onwards, when the project restarted.
The first one I received back then was FAH2_002723_zinc00259835_000001_000043_001_0
and today I received e.g. FAH2_002743_zinc72158025_000002_000085_185_0.
The first number after FAH2_ is what I call a batchnumber. Doing some research reveals that the batches started at 002721 and are ending at 002745. That's 25 batches.
The next component, e.g. zinc72158025, is unique to each batchnumber, so there are 25 different ZINC-names that each belong to a certain batchnumber.
The next component is a number that can have four different values: 1, 2, 3, 4, each preceded by five zeroes.
We've nearly reached the last component, which denotes the number of generations, as you all know, and that last component runs from 001 till …, who can say?
There is one remaining component though, and that one runs from 1 up to and including 100.
So we have this:
FAH2_(×25)_(×1)_(×4)_(×100)_(×???)

The first generation of each task starts at 001. So it might be a safe assumption that there were 25×1×4×100 = 10,000 tasks of generation 001.

Now the number on the website mentions roughly 1,500,000 expected workunits to be returned. We would have to multiply the number of tasks of generation 001 (T) and the number of generations (G) to get to 1,500,000 (E), but we don't know the final number of generations. So we have this formula: T × G = E with G unknown. We rewrite this: E / T = G.
Now use the known values: 1,500,000 / 10,000 = 150. So the number of generations would be 150. As we know, we've already passed 150.

The 'oldest' generation in my queue at the moment is 149. How long will this go on?

Re: project status website never fixed

So somehow the scientists received their 100% quota and we're now crunching bonusware. Still getting fresh work and none has an iteration greater than _169, smallest at _154.

Tomorrow 101% 🤗
