Hi all. Some of us have talked about the Lenovo m710 machines in another thread. I get a discount at Lenovo.
----------------------------------------Lenovo just advertised a sale last night that lasts the next 5 days on select systems. I can now price the m710 Tiny for $475.03 US (without keyboard and mouse) which is $50+ cheaper than before. The Tiny is physically 7.05" X 7.20" X 1.36" The tech details are: Processor : Intel Core i7-7700T Processor (8MB Cache, up to 3.80 GHz) Operating System : Windows 10 Home 64 Form Factor : Tiny B250 Memory : 4GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM Video Adapter : Integrated Intel HD Graphics Hard Drive : 500GB Hard Drive, 7200RPM, 2.5", SATA3 Networking : Integrated Gigabit Ethernet Port VGA Port : Optional VGA Port Speakers : Internal Speaker for Tiny Publications Pack : Publication English Warranty : 1 Year On-site The above system (and other systems) can of course be modified such as RAM, drive, cd/dvd, etc. I just priced that as a simple crunching machine. You could also choose the Small Form Factor which is the exact same specs (and more video card options) except slightly larger case BUT is cheaper at $444.88 so $30 cheaper than the Tiny. Physically it is 3.6" X 11.4" X 13.5" which is still very, very small. Unlike the Tiny, the SFF case allows you to choose a video card. Lastly, if you want more room for expansion and video card choices, you can get the Tower which is $424.78. The 910 series is also on sale but the technical differences are small such as different motherboard, a few more SATA3 ports I think, etc...stuff that doesn't matter for a crunching machine or for 90% of consumers. I own the Lenovo m910 Tower with the same i7-7700T chip and it processes 50-60 WUs a day for the Cancer projects. The m910 Tower uses 97watts of electricity when BOINC is running 24x7 at 100%. If you would like to utilize these sale prices, reply to this thread. I don't think there is private message here so I guess you would need to update your profile with an email address or put the email in the thread. ![]() |

wow, TDP of only 35w on that i7-7700T ![]() That is good...right? I have the Tower m910 and when BOINC runs at 100% the tower draws 97watts. When BOINC is not running the Tower draws 20watts...even when running youtube clips at 1080. My tower has an integrated video card. ![]() |
