Our friend Jean Pierre Jost Ramerez (JP to most)

It is with great sorrow that I inform you that the founder of The International Team, JP; Jean Pierre Jost Ramerez, has passed away. He passed last week, 10/24/2017. He had been battling cancer for some time. I know how much crunching meant to him. That is why we crunch: to help find cures for some pretty bad diseases. Some day no one will die from cancer or these other illnesses.

R.I.P Jean Pierre Jost Ramerez you will be missed !!!

We will Crunch on !!!!!

A memory of JP.

I know JP from way back. We met on the forums on United Grid. When United Grid shut down we moved to World Community Grid. Over the years we got to know each other better. He was always kind and considerate.

I once was going through a difficult time with the loss of my Son. JP was there to offer comfort. It meant a lot that someone I had never met became friends.

Unfortunately, yet another reason to strengthen our resolve against these dreaded diseases and crunch on.

Real sad to hear, when a few months ago he checked in to say hello on the forums.

JP, RIP

This is so sad to hear.
I also first got to know JP on Grid.org and he was always very kind.

I currently have no words for this tragedy other than: Rest In Peace JP.

So very sad. JP was probably one of the first people I met in this forum, so many years ago.
Rest in peace, Jean Pierre.

Shocked and extremely saddened to read this.
I got to know Jean Pierre chatting on the forums, and when he saw in my blog that I was in Santiago, he invited me for lunch... and dinner.... refused to let me pay, even at an expensive restaurant where everyone except me was wearing a tie and suit.
Showed me his computers in his office, and told me where all the best bookshops were in Santiago.
You know, I was in Santiago at that time to catch a plane back to Sydney because my father had undergone emergency surgery for colon cancer.
We had something in common because he worked for a time in Sydney, many years ago.
He is the only other WCG cruncher I have ever met in person.
A gentleman and a scholar as we say.
BTW, he had more than a passing resemblance to the actor Jack Nicholson.
Jean Pierre, you will be missed, but not forgotten.

Descanso en Paz amigo.
