BOINC is the only CPU hog I run and I am happy to do so but some times the CPU get too hot and shutdown the computer. Does BOINC have a feature or can it use another program's feature to monitor the computers core temperature so that BOINC can throttle back its amount of CPU usage when the core temperature exceeds a preset threshold and restore its activity after the CPU's cool off? With this feature my computers would not shutdown and they would have more time for the WWG.

Something that might also mitigate the overheating issue is dumping some compressed air into the fan vents/popping off the back of the machine if at all possible.
----------------------------------------I did this just a little while ago and the difference is actually finominal. An A6-4455M that was underclocking to 0.8 ghz almost constantly and hitting 85 C now sits comfortably at its correct clock of 2.1 ghz and 74C. Hope that helps a little, too...
