I just downloaded a few of the new WUs.
2.5 days on a 4.4GHz i5 is too long for a single WU, unless you want it at 1%; Shorten the run-time! I just cancelled all your jobs and froze WCG as a result. This is supposed to be community-inspiring, not massive resource hog, see SETI, Milky, Einstein, etc. for guidance. Making me freeze the entire WCG through your disruption does NOT help the cause! |

To the best of my knowledge there are no workunits on MCM1 which would take 2.5 days, especially on a system such as yours. Could you post a little more information on why you believe you had a work unit which would take this long ? Thanks

Didn't know there were NEW MCM1 workunits. They seem to have been running a consistent length of time for years. Most likely in the wrong forum.

Didn't know there were NEW MCM1 workunits. They seem to have been running a consistent length of time for years. Most likely in the wrong forum. I am getting MCM1 WUs all the time, when there aren't any/enough HST or MIP WUs to go around...But than they take the most a bit less than a day (18h CPU time) on either busy or older CoreDuo hosts. Most MCM1 WUs seem to be in the 2-4h range... Ralf |
