Inconsistency after an unexpected power outage

Hi,
an unexpected power outage occurred during the upload of a WU (BETA_beta26_99999998_1775).
After system reboot, Boinc reports the WU as "uploading" but no file transfer is visible. On WCG side, the WU is still announced "in Progress".
What can I do to re-initiate the transfer, even if no file does appear in the transfer list?
In advance, I thank you for any advice.
Cheers,
Yves

PS: On the same host, all other transfers are correctly performed.

Re: Inconsistency after an unexpected power outage

Yves, the most probable cause of this discrepancy is that there are one or more damaged files. You could try to remedy this by stopping BOINC and see if you can find any suspicious or NUL characters ('\0') at the end of any recently changed file (with names ending in .txt and .xml) in the ~boinc homedirectory. (Skip the subdirectories.)

Example: open client_state.xml in Vim and go ('G') to the end of the file. Do you see NUL bytes? Delete them. Save the file. Restart BOINC if you feel confident you are ready.

I had to do this a few weeks ago when a power cut hit my machine.

CAUTION: Use with care!
