I am trying to set up boinc on a several newer linux machines that run redhat 6.x and 7.x OS versions.
However it looks like the openssl has updated and the BOINC client has not seen an update in many years. When I try to start boinc I get the following: /boinc: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.1.0.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory When I check the /usr/lib I see the newer link: ll libssl* -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 311860 May 15 08:47 libssl3.so lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 16 Jul 14 15:00 libssl.so.10 -> libssl.so.1.0.1e -rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 425496 Jan 30 07:43 libssl.so.1.0.1e I tried creating soft links but it just cascades with errors as I continued to fix each link in turn. I know this works on the older systems I have and I do have boinc running on several linux machines. I did not see anything relevant when searching the forums and google so I am hoping some light can be shed on this issue. Thanks in advance to all that can help. |

My best guess is that you need to install the BOINC version(s) that best fit(s) your system(s).
----------------------------------------And uhhh... does it really say "/boinc: error while loading shared libraries: ..."? BOINC shouldn't be installed in the root directory (/). ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by adriverhoef at Jul 17, 2017 7:49:38 PM] |
