WCG has badges, I have always thought that to be a bad idea, but such is life. So when a new project starts, I run it until my badge is yellow, usually to around 100 days, then I stop running it to keep my page yellow. Stupid, but stupid ideas from the project promote stupid ideas from the crunchers. Can I create a second account, a multi-coloured account, and crunch further? If so, what do I need to do?

You could put another email address on your old account and create a new account with your current address so everything continues to roll up at BOINCStats (after a while of resynching).

I tried that, set the e-mail to an old address I used perhaps a decade ago, might still be valid, no idea, and set a new account with my current address. Downloaded 7-8 days of work accross my machines, all of which ran to completion, but my new account still shows blank, and my old account shows the results. There must be more to it.

I created a second account that I now do most of my crunching on. When a new project comes along I change my cruncher to this account to get a silver badge. I do that by reassigning the cruncher with this account's weak account key by opening a command prompt, changing the directory to where the boinccmd.exe file is located and entering the following two commands. You will first want to drain your queue of WUs or they will be detached.
boinccmd --project http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org detach boinccmd --project_attach http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org WeakAccountKey Of course you have to reverse this process when you want to switch back. Obviously, your client is still connected to the old account... remove / add WCG with new account. rr967 gave you one command line way of doing it. |

I've done that and my boincmanager page is showing my second account name. I'll let it run for a while and see how it works out.

Seems okay, I have a credit for the first job I received under the second account. I've done the same edits on another machine.

Second account is working okay, it is open to all projects, but I've not received a single Stop TB work unit yet.
