Re: Linux ARM

I am +1 for Linux ARM support. I had to put a jenky jailbroken Android on my Pi to crunch. About 3k points a day, but it was a hassle to set up. Probably not the priority and much easier said than done, but still. My pi was collecting dust before I decided to put Android on it to crunch

Re: Linux ARM

Just wanting to see if there has been any updated information from the project team on any plans to support Linux ARM configurations. I hope this is on the list and moving up smile

Hello,

Currently World Community Grid only supports ARM on Android. We do not have any plans to support ARM on Linux in the immediate future.

Thank you for your support,

Run Android on them and you can crunch WCG tasks.

Re: Linux ARM

Got several Pis around the globe... Hoping for the good news.
Additionally, I think Android is not a good choice because of its design. They're not DESIGNED to run programs like that, RPi is a lot better...

As far as I know, RPi2 and former versions does not support android...
And, how can you ensure there's nothing else running on those Pi s, such as a private vpn server or a web server or sth. else?

applause Re: Linux ARM

At the moment, only one project can be launched on Andriod. Thick ... I will not mention the GPU. LinuxARM would be a very good solution.

LinuxARM would be a very good solution.

I can frankly not understand where is the problem for the sciences to support Raspian, if they are already supporting Debian-based Linux distribution.
I feel that it is just wasting of computational resources.
On my side, I am not willing to install and to operate Android on any of my RPi at any time!
Cheers,
Yves
