![]() HPF status report 9/26/2005 We’ve crossed a critical milestone, we’ve got our first users of the data coming off the grid. Beta-testing biologists have hit the database of results. First up are collaborators of mine (working on pathogenic microbes and yeast) that I can give personal instruction in the use of the database. After that we open it up and publish in roughly that order. A lot of work to do in the next week, but I’m excited as it all comes together! More soon, and ask questions if you want, I’ll get to them. |

Hi Dr Bonneau
Always a pleasure to read your posts. This may have been asked (and answered) before, but will we (the WCG forum) receive any feedback on the result of making this data available. I don't mean dramatic cures, but simply what your colleagues think of this new resource - being the database of results that you mention. |

Hi VAIO GRX616,
Still not light here. I am speaking only for myself, but I promise that the World Community Grid will try to collect and retain news about people making use of our results in the future. We will want that readily available for journalists writing about the World Community Grid, for members who have contributed their computer time and wonder if they accomplished anything and finally for people checking the World Community Grid to decide whether or not they want to become members. Time for breakfast. But we WILL do this. mycrofth |

Dr Bonneau, mycrofth.
----------------------------------------Thank you very much for that. It is always good to have feedback, and to be assured that the results of our efforts are finally being put to good use. WTG! ![]() |

Hi VAIO GRX616, Still not light here. You work too hard mate ![]() FTAOD I didn't mean scientific papers or journalistic releases, simply word-of-mouth feedback from the guys at the 'sharp end' so to speak. Just an idea (from the guys who actually do the research) as to whether this database that we are helping to build is good, bad or indifferent. Does it help them significantly or is it simply another weapon in their arsenal? I assume Dr Bonneau himself would be the best person for this as: a) he IS one of these scientific chappies; and b) he doesn't mind speaking to us ![]() |
