Re: Ryzen 16 Core/32 Thread CPU

For any new AMD chips (Ryzen) I sincerely hope that the grave issues with many motherboards are addressed. Many a computer builder (individuals, companies, even big companies such as Dell) have had major issues with the current entire lot of Ryzen chips and a number of motherboards.

It would appear as through AMD did not give hardware manufacturers enough lead time.

Re: Ryzen 16 Core/32 Thread CPU

I think the motherboard issues aren't nearly as bad as near the launch.

Most problems are related to overclocking. If you run your chips stock, you most likely won't encounter any issues.

I have a b350 tomahawk with an early bios. Memory overclocking was unstable for me, but running everything on stock it's a stable 24/7 cruncher. I bet that with a newer BIOS the memory OC issues would be solved as well.

Re: Ryzen 16 Core/32 Thread CPU

@fuzzy
I updated the 1.3 bios on their website and it seems very stable. Boot time is very fast now, no more beeps during POST. My Dram is rated at 2400mhz CL14, I was able to OC it to 2933mhz CL14 1.35v with no issues. I didn't push it to 3200 though because I want to put the machine back to crunch asap. Now it's back on WCG again at 3.6ghz, Dram = 2667mhz 1.2v. I just replaced the stock cooler with an AIO just to be safe. My CPU max temp under load is now 52C .. VRM still runs a little warm 69C. Total power draws went up to 175w.
