Lately some tasks never complete...stuck at 99.999%

Over the past month, I've noticed that some tasks never finish running; They will stick at 99.99%. They involve different projects in World Community Grid. I have one OpenZika 7.08 and it has been running now for over 17 hours and is at 99.999% with zero % remaining.

Any ideas?

You asked "Any ideas?"

The reply is: No idea (based on the little information you provide)

From memory, some suggestions that people have tried are to Suspend and then Resume the affected task, and if that doesn't work, to reboot the machine (which will cause all tasks to revert to the previous checkpoint). I have no ideas about the possible cause.

Thanks, I've tried that a few times before, and that didn't resolve it. It is just strange that it just started happening in the 4-5 weeks.

The best reply is that apparently nobody has a clue as to why this happens.
I have at least two or three of such WUs on various computers and when I see that they show actually no checkpoint after a couple of hours, I am just aborting those. Done. sad

Beside that it isn't always possible to reboot the whole machine (think an always on server with CPU time to spare), it isn't really helping as at least in my case, those WUs never pass even the very first checkpoint, so they whole shebang is likely to start all over again, wasting a crunching slot for a long, long time...
