how do I add a device?

I don't know if I'm asking this in the right forum - it's not obvious to me which forum to use.

Anyway, I've had both my computers working on WGC for years. I've always updated when advised to do so. I have BOINC 7.6.33 on both computers - the iMac is OS X 10.10.5, the MacBook Air is 10.12.3.

For some reason, my iMac has been deleted somehow from my list of devices - it's not in Device Manager. And Device Manager shows me zero ways to add a device, so all I have there is my MacBook Air. I don't know how this happened or when. I did have my iMac powered off for a few weeks while traveling - could this be the problem? Yet whenever I've done this before, BOINC always opened automatically as soon as I powered up. This time it didn't and I didn't notice till now.

At any rate how do I add a device. Device Manager doesn't have a button for that, and it's been so long since I had to do this I guess I've forgotten how.

Thanks.

Re: how do I add a device?

At the top of the screen in Device Manager are filters by date. Maybe your iMac hasn't returned a result in a while. It should still be there.

Re: how do I add a device?

If your device has been offline for more than 2 weeks and has not returned any results during that time it will not show in the default settings of your device statistics. Simply change the "with Results Returned" from "in the last 14 days" to "anytime(all devices)" and all of your devices will show.
Edit: Enels types faster than I do. tongue

Re: how do I add a device?

Thanks! I see the iMac now. Is there any way to tell if it's actually doing anything? Usually I have 8 tasks going at a time in BOINC Manager - now it's only 4, and 2 more ready to run. Is there a way to tell which computer is working on which tasks? I'm still puzzled about why it didn't just start automatically when I booted up again. It always has before, and the MBA did it with no problem.

Re: how do I add a device?

To see tasks for each computer, use the filters at the top of the Results Status page. If I read correctly you want to run 100% of processors 100% of the time. You likely know there are settings for this in preferences/options. Maybe they changed?
