Too Late

Noticed a Too Late entry in one of the results sent back:
FAHV_1001095_3j3y-_b-P4_Rigid_5389_4-- Linux  734  Valid          2/3/17 09:49:43   2/4/17 01:11:46  2.04  76.5/104.3

WUs _0 and _1 were sent by WCG at 17:54-55 on 30-01-2017.
Since WU _0 was User Aborted, WU _2 was sent by WCG at 19:32 on 30-01-2017 with a deadline of 07:32 on 03-02-2017 (which you can tell from the Sent Time of WU _3).
However, WU _2 was only returned at 02:43 on 04-02-2017, one hour and 32 minutes later than WU _4 was returned (at 01:11 on 04-02-2017).

I think this means that a WU, if it's being returned past the deadline, has to be returned before the last wingman sends a completed result.

Here, WU _2 is being returned 7 hours and 15 minutes later than the last completed WU, _4.

Re: Too Late

My question is this:

How can a WU be Too Late if it's returned before the 2nd is sent out?

Re: Too Late

There are some unusual uses of the "Too Late" status designation - see the FAQ.

Re: Too Late

@PecosRiverM,
"Too Late" is certainly baffling in this situation: your _0 WU was reported back to the server and then it was sent to a wingman as a _1 WU, so it can't really be too late.
According to the FAQ: "Occasionally a result previously marked Pending Validation has the distribution stopped due to too many errors, without a complete quorum [max errors varies per science]. The non-error results are then converted to the status Too Late."
As the WCG system outage happened on the 18th of July and the wingman's result was turned in at around the time of the outage, there is a big chance that your _0 WU has been marked Pending Validation originally (causing it to be sent to a wingman) and after the outage that PVal status was changed into "Too Late". Don't despair though: "Credit is granted as claimed [with delay]. Internally these task results are moved to a take-out list, for later review. Also see the Pending Validation status."
