Date format non-localisation

Just noticed that some dates now appear in US mm/dd/yy format when they were localised to dd/mm/yyyy.
This is using same browser as before, Firefox, on both Windows and Linux.
Settings for OS and Firefox appear OK and un-changed.

The ones that appear to have changed:
My Contribution - Statistics Last Updated: shows mm/dd/yy
Results Status - Sent Time Time Due / Return Time shows mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss but was showing mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss on the 12th and last year up until at least 27/11/2016 was localised.

Other dates not localised, not sure if they were before:
Device Manager - Date Installed & Registered shows mm/dd/yyyy
My Contribution - Registered Member Since: shows mm/dd/yy
My Contribution History - Statistics Date shows mm/dd/yyyy
Device Statistics History - Last Results Returned (UTC) shows mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss
My Team - Created: shows mm/dd/yyyy

I'm sure some of these were localised before.

Is this a result of website changes ?
Please localise all dates or at least consistently show yyyy.

Paul.

I was wondering about this, too! Same issue here. Thanks for raising it.

Re: Date format non-localisation

Fixing the dates isn't going to happen, let's face it. WorldUS Community Grid have been aware of this for a long time, since the last site redesign. The only thing that has happened is that they tidied it by removing some localisations to use all US dates! For a time it was 50/50 US and localised on the same page!

The to-do list is too long and this is such a low priority it'll never see the top and get fixed.

Re: Date format non-localisation

You may well be correct, but if a site is going to use one single format across the board, surely it should use the ISO format (YYYY-MM-DD)? That is unambiguous, easily sorted, and sufficiently different to what most people are used to that it doesn't get misinterpreted.

Re: Date format non-localisation

Yes, I really wish that they'd get the date format sorted.

It changed sometime between the 19th and 26th of December last year - and, to be perfectly honest, if they can't get a simple thing such as this right, people might start questioning what else can't they get right.

Yes I know WCG/IBM is an American company (I used to work for them), but still - how many people contribute to WCG live outside that country?, I'd say it was the majority, so, localised dates is the way to go. Other websites can do it, so why not WCG? After all, "something" instigated this change - it didn't "just happen".
