The default Boinc for Android only allows three account managers and doesn't allow the addition of custom managers, which is needed for Gridcoin pool mining with your Android phone. However, the Boinc app can be modified using the free Android APK Editor app, which is what I used to insert the pool.gridcoin.co URL in the default manager options.
----------------------------------------Step 1: Download Boinc and Android APK Editor from Google play. Step 2: Open up APK Editor and open the Boinc app using the "Select APK from app" option. https://s22.postimg.org/h0brkyha9/IMG_0228.jpg https://s9.postimg.org/kjv4u9lbz/IMG_0229.jpg Step 3: Select the "Full Edit" option. https://s22.postimg.org/csjytnf8h/IMG_0230.jpg Step 4: Select the "Files" tab from the options bellow. https://s22.postimg.org/v9edkgv6p/IMG_0231.jpg Step 5: Select the "Values" option. https://s22.postimg.org/64nd71vq9/IMG_0232.jpg Step 6: Select the "Arrays.xml" option. https://s22.postimg.org/3oljt7dnl/IMG_0234.jpg Step 7: Once you enter the arrays file, you can just swap one of the existing manager urls with the Gridcoin pool one between the <item> </item> tags. https://s22.postimg.org/4gptop7up/IMG_0235.jpg Step 8: Once the modification is complete, click the save button and install the new Boinc version on your Android. https://s22.postimg.org/f2834eo69/IMG_0236.jpg The new version should now allow you to use the Gridcoin pool as your manager and you can add projects from within the pool interface when logged in. https://s22.postimg.org/rm08apczl/IMG_0238.jpg https://s22.postimg.org/5yba09cld/IMG_0237.jpg [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 6, 2016 9:45:26 PM] |

You don't say, but does this require rooting the device? Just in case.

The only thing you might have to do is change the permissions to install the modified app. I did that on my phone and it was fine.
